This larger than life Red Tailed Hawk was an original commission produced during the summer of 2019.  Prometheus is made from over 1,000 individual hand hammered and patina-ed copper feathers.  This incredibly detailed piece took almost 4 months to complete and weighs approximately 100 lbs including the branch.  The branch is actually carved from concrete in a process called fero-cement-faux bois.   This hawk is perched on a stone fireplace in Wyoming and guards their home and hearth.  Named after the Greek Titan that stole fire from the gods and gave it to man and in myth is credited with forming man from the clay of the earth.

"Heaven and Earth"

This commissioned piece symbolizes the two realms of reality for human beings. There is the earthly realm where we live, breath and die; and the heavenly realm where many believe our souls rest after life. The three trees represent a family with their children grounded in the earth, with their roots nurturing each other. The background represents the division between the heavenly realms and the earth. This is where their past loved ones watch over them. The birds flying in the distant sky are those loving souls departed.

"Wildfire"

This sculpture is entitled "Wildfire" and is made from hammered copper and bronze and silver welds.  It has varying natural copper patinas done with heat and flame.   I wanted to express the wild nature of horses and their inner strength, fiery spirit and energy.  For me this piece invokes freedom and life, a horse driven with power and grace.  Its spirit is free to flow and be its true nature.  It feels like the pieces of this horse are drawn and pulled together like metal armor evoking protection, movement and inner power, all qualities horses posses. I grew up with many horses in my life and this piece is very special to me as an artist. I hope you see in it what I do.
